The 5th Annual Strides Against Sarcoma Run and Walk was held on Saturday November 9th on the Rush Pond Trail in Queensbury, New York.  The course is a 3.5 Mile Trail Race/Walk on the Rush Pond Trails and finishes behind Queensbury Elementary School.

Caroline Savitz initiated this event after being diagnosed with epithelioid sarcoma in 2014.  At age 25, Caroline passed away on September 21, 2016.  Her family and friends have remained committed to seeing her vision to cure sarcoma and help families who are struggling with this life-changing cancer.

The last 4 years of Strides Against Sarcoma have been a huge success.  They have donated more than $45,000 to the following: Caroline’s Craft Carts at Glens Falls Hospital, Sarcoma Foundation of America, and the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society.  Not only did Caroline have the vision of supporting local families dealing with sarcoma but she knew the importance of supporting research to improve outcomes.  Sarcoma Strong is thankful for the support received from the Caroline Marie Savitz Foundation.

This year’s event helped support the MacMillan Family and their son Dan who is fighting Ewing’s sarcoma.

Thank you to the Caroline Marie Savitz Foundation for raising awareness of sarcoma, supporting local families, and funding sarcoma research.
