To all Sarcoma Strong 5k Race participants:

Race day is just around the corner. Some instructions to make the morning “run” smoothly.  Online pre-registration is closed.  We welcome same day registration so bring your friends and continue to spread the word about the 4th Annual Sarcoma Strong 5k Run/Walk.

Our event will be on the UAlbany Certified 5k Race Course(link below).  Go to link to see Dutch quad parking lot on left side of map and event tent will be between F(finish area) and S(start area) or mile marker 2.

General parking for the event will be at the Dutch quad parking lot. A small number of handicap spots will be available near the Indian quad parking lot.

From the Dutch quad parking area you will walk down a utility road (with speed bumps) towards Indian quad and the event tent. You will pass the track and field area on your right and the event tent will then be straight ahead and on your right.

Please try to arrive at tent area by 7:45am to pick up race bib and event shirt for first 350 registered participants.  Remember to a lot time for parking and the walk to our event area.

If you have collected donations or wish to make a donation there will be a table set-up for this, separate from the registration process.

Course maps will be available near the registration tables.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO WALKERS:

Sarcoma Strong recommends the walkers do only one loop of the 3 loop 5k course. This will be a little over a mile and will allow for most participants finishing the race during a shorter time window.  Participants are free to do the whole course.

An awards ceremony will commence around 9:45am.  Our special guest this year to assist with the awards presentation is Dr. Bang Hoang from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is the recipient of the first $100,000 Sarcoma Strong/MSTS  research grant.  Your participation will get us to our goal of funding more world-renowned researchers like Dr. Hoang, who give our sarcoma families hope and promise for better and less toxic treatments.

Participants are welcome to stay after the awards ceremony and enjoy some live entertainment from DJ Iroc and Paradox Saints.  Refreshments and grab and go items will be available.

We look forward to seeing you on race day and thank you for UNITING THE SARCOMA FIGHT!
