Once diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma, how long is long enough to be followed? A recent study out of India suggests routine follow-up does not need to extend past 10 years. 867 patients were evaluated for local and distant (metastatic disease) recurrence. They found 95% of those who developed a local recurrence did so within 8.6 years, and that 95% of patients who developed metastases did so within 7.3 years.
