The 2015 Team Sarcoma 5k Run/Walk event is right around the corner. At this point it feels like we are on auto pilot. Months of planning and here we are. Ready for action, advocacy, support, awareness and to generate funds to improve the lives of patients battling sarcoma globally. Funds raised will sponsor a national sarcoma research grant that will be overseen by the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society(MSTS), a worldwide leader in sarcoma education, advocacy, and research. The impact will be felt globally from an event starting here with our local sarcoma family.
One of the highlights of this year’s event is the commitment of Brian Cody from Fly 92.3 to come out, support the event, and possibly join in on the run. Brian has had an impact on many local families faced with the challenges cancer can throw at them. He has helped several of my patients and always approaches their journeys with a deep sense of caring and helps advocate and raise awareness of their struggles and triumphs. IT is no wonder he is being honored by the American Cancer Society with the Pillar of Hope Award at this year’s Night in Tuscany Event in Saratoga on July 16th. Thank you for what you do for Our Community and for many in Our Sarcoma Family!
